Behind the Scenes of 2023

When I’m writing this we are in the “dark days before Christmas”, short days and long nights, an expression that is afaik specifically Dutch. This is a time that people look back, reflect and make decisions on how to approach the coming year. Here is my looking back, for you, with behind the scenes material of some of the things that have happened. Given (more than I can remember) workshop, followed workshops, did photoshoots, performed live and then some.

2023 turned out to be a year where I brushed up on Japanese insights from the wonderful world of kinbaku. I got the opportunity to be flanked by the Shady Lady for workshops by Mr. Kazami Ranki, Ms.Kasumi Hourai, Mr. Naka Akira and no other than Nuit de Tokyo! Lessons learned will be and are incorporated in my own way of tying. In addition to following Japanese-minded kinbaku workshops there was the immersion in Japanese amateur tying in the Onawa Asobi festival.
