The Art Series 1 DVD contains four sessions. Two sessions with the Dutch bondage diva, Chantal, herself and two sessions with the beautiful guest model Miss Mirjana. Chantal has to go through a taware shibari variation and a utsubuse zuri. Aranawa (荒縄) | 9mm, Straw, Rope

This 9mm rice/straw rope is the most traditional rope for Japanese rope bondage (shibari, kinbaku) you can find. This rope is also used by "the father of modern kinbaku" Itoh Seiu. What is aranawa? Please see our glossary entry . This rope is direct from Japan and suitable for the connoisseur of Japanese rope bondage and advanced students alike. Of course suitable not just for Japanese bondage, but for all other bondage’s where you want a bit of additional sensations. Perhaps make it wet, it won't shrink. We recommend using this rope singled in lengths of 4m instead of doubled up 8m. This item can be bought by the meter for €2.45/m, please contact me if you need different lengths. This rope is not suitable for suspension. Ready for immediate use.

Carabiner

A oval aluminum straight gate carabiner with a circular section. It has a keylock system to prevent any snagging. This makes it recommended for use with mobile devices (pulleys, blockers, fall, ...) and therefore very suitable for shibari / kinbaku suspensions. Nawaato translates to the actual marks that can be left on the skin by rope; rope marks. By using the abridging character "之", often used in ancient tradition and poetry, the entire word becomes a more poetic version of itself, i.e. "the marks of the rope". All together these three characters represent the Japanese writing for the name I use; "RopeMarks"

Tenugui

Tenugui (手拭い) , litterally “hand (te 手 (て)) wipe (nugu う拭う (ぬぐ))” A tenugui is a thin Japanese hand towel made from cotton. Typically, tenugui are about 35 by 90 centimeters (14 by 35 in) in size, plain woven, and almost always dyed with some pattern. Usually the long sides are finished with a selvage, and the short sides are just cut and so soon show some fraying. Same as the tenugui's offered here, the short side is unprocessed, some threads may fray. The pattern offered here is the mame shibori. Mame ("beans" / "pea") shibori is a classical Edo design, a bean/pea-dot pattern. Westerners would call this a polka-dot pattern. The other patterns are flower and bunny. We import our tenugui straight from Japan. Within the context of kinbaku a tenugui is typically used as gag or blindfold.
